I think of a "clandestine" drug lab as a novice ran laboratory in the business of creating poison from many poisons. This is also known as a "criminal enterprise" and is in violation of the Rico Laws when crossing state borders. Organized crime as found in Mexico and parts of the USA run the larger labs, while the "mom-n-pop" labs exist (usually) in the presence of children at the expense of the most innocent.
